In Simsbury, CT on August 25, 2010 Betty (Block) Parisi, age 81, widow of Vincent Parisi and devoted mother of Richard Parisi (and his wife Joanne) of Liverpool, New York, Brian and Paul Parisi of Tampa, FL and Rita Parisi of Bloomfield, CT (and her partner John Foley). Betty is also survived by her grandchildren Catherine Budlong of Syracuse, NY and Kimberly Cammarata of Liverpool, NY. She also leaves her sister Dorothy Hinxman of Webster, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Great Valley, NY Betty graduated from the Maxwell School of Business at Syracuse University. She taught business courses at Utica (NY) Free Academy and Natick (MA) High School for 29 years. Betty loved music and playing cards especially bridge. She was an ardent Syracuse University sports fan. The family wishes to thank the staff at McLean in Simsbury for their wonderful care and many kindnesses shown to Betty during the five years she lived at McLean. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at McLean, 75 Great Pond Rd., Simsbury, CT on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to McLean at the above address or the Hartford Hospital Geriatric Medicine Program, 80 Seymour St. Hartford, CT 06102
