Frances (Zukowski) Amodeo, age 86, wife of the late Vincent Amodeo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 4, 2010. She was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on August 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Alexander and Apolonia (Komorowski) Zukowski. While living on the farm, she developed a love of the outdoors, hard work, and healthy living, all of which she continued throughout her entire life. She was a member and active participant in the CSEA Union. Frances and her late husband Vincent made West Hartford their home for the past 46 years. Frances was devoted to caring for her family, energetic, and had a unique and warm sense of humor. She is survived by her devoted daughter Mary Briggs and son-in-law Richard Briggs, their two children – Frances' beloved grandsons Adam and Allen Briggs; her devoted daughter Gloria Kozlowski and son-in-law John Kozlowski; her half-sister Anna Stefanski and husband Tony; and her step- sister Annette Melgey. She was predeceased by her parents, her spouse Vincent, two sisters Victoria Cohen and Pauline Louisgnan, her two brothers, Alexander Zukowski and Joseph Zukowski; two step brothers Walter Ramatowski and John Ramatowski, a step-sister Genevieve Maynard, and her step-father Walter Ramatowski. Calling hours are Sunday March 7, from 3-6 pm at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford.
